POSTER PRESENTATION
Cometabolic Bioremediation of 1,4-Dioxane
Site DP003 within Air Force plant 44 required addressing TCE and 1,4-dioxane concentrations in groundwater that exceeded permissible levels. This presentation will describe how a lab treatability study lead to a field pilot test aiming for in situ remediation via biostimulation with fracking techniques. The conclusion will focus on lessons learned and status of an ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of cometabolic bioremediation using methane and oxygen gas infusion on a 1,4-dioxane plume commingled with chlorinated solvents.
