Regional Pretreatment Program Specialist

Anne Tavalire is a Regional Pretreatment Program Specialist at the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). Anne oversees National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit compliance for municipal wastewater treatment plants, specially focusing on the Industrial Pretreatment Program. She is one of three Industrial Pretreatment PFAS Specialists at EGLE. As an IPP PFAS Specialist, Anne works with other divisions within EGLE, as well as with other State of Michigan departments to coordinate PFAS investigations and remediations. This role also includes outreach to local units of government and public education. Anne has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Bowling Green State University; and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan.
